Understanding 25 ACP Ballistics

The 25 ACP is the invention of John M. Browning. It is also known as the 6.35mm Browning.

When you study 25 ACP ballistics, it becomes obvious it is not a powerful handgun cartirdge.

Firing a small 50gr bullet at just over 800fps, its ballistics is similar to the .22LR rimfire rouund. Such ballistics alone rules the 25 ACP from Law enforcement applications.

However, despite such poor ballistics, the 25 ACP is carried by some police officers as a backup handgun.

To achieve best ballistics from the tiny 25 ACP, use fast burning powders, since powder capacity is limited. The ballistics of the 25 ACP makes it suitable for plinking and other short range shooting.
